Dungannon, OH, United States (AHN) – According to government officials, a pipeline explosion in eastern Ohio lit up the sky for more than 35 miles around late Thursday but caused no injuries to anyone.

Flames from the fire soared 200 feet into the air, reported the Columbiana County commission.

The explosion, which occurred in rural farmland in Columbiana County, 50 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, involved Tennessee Gas Pipeline equipment. Gas lines fueling the fire were shut down around midnight, as fire crews worked to put out brush fires.

Evacuees were allowed to return to their homes early Friday.
