Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – “American Idol” champ Jordin Sparks is launching her first affordable scent. The 20-year-old songstress had practicality in mind when she concocted Because of You for her fans.
She told WWD via People magazine, “When I was starting this project, I really wanted it to be affordable. I looked at some other celebrity fragrances, and they were like $80. Even now, I look at a fragrance that’s $80, and I can’t bring myself to spend that much.”
“In this economy especially, my fans deserve a high quality, reasonably priced scent.”
The scent will retail at an introductory price of $9.50 for a 2.5-oz. bottle when it hits counters next week. It will then be sold at $14.95 on November 1.
The “Battlefield” hitmaker said that she also wants Because of You to “transfer easily from day to night,” describing it as a “fruity floriental” scent.
Because of You will be available at dots.com or Dots stores next week before it can be made available at Target stores in November.
